Project

Market, Financial and Economic Feasibility Study for a New Amphitheater

Year

2024

Client Challenge

The Bastian Family Foundation sought an objective assessment to determine whether a new amphitheater at the USU Bastian Agricultural Center could meet both local community programming needs and attract large-scale touring concerts, while remaining financially viable and economically impactful for South Jordan.

Approach

Victus Advisors conducted a two-phase feasibility study. The market analysis included demographic and socioeconomic research, benchmarking comparable venues, stakeholder and promoter interviews, and analysis of local concert demand. The financial and economic phase developed detailed operating models for multiple scenarios, compared potential revenue streams, and estimated economic and fiscal impacts for South Jordan and Salt Lake County.

Benefits to Client

The Bastian Family Foundation received a clear, data-driven roadmap outlining viable amphitheater models, ranging from a flexible 2,000-seat community venue to a commercially operated 5,000-to-8,000-seat concert amphitheater. The study quantified capital funding potential, revenue streams and net local spending, empowering stakeholders to plan for sustainable operations and measurable economic returns.
